QUERCUS ELLIPSOIDALIS
Grower Notes:

Commonly referred to as the Northern Pin Oak, this medium-sized deciduous tree has a cylindrical shape and a rounded crown. Upper branches are ascending while the lower branches descend to the ground. In shady areas the lower branches sometimes break off which creates a pin-like stub, hence the pin oak part of its name.

This tree is primarily native to dry sandy sites. Fruits are elliptic acorns that mature at the end of two seasons. Leaves turn a non-showy russet red in fall.
