Potentilla fruticosa 'JEFMAN' PP29830 is commonly referred to as Mandarin Tango® Potentilla. It is a compact, deciduous shrub with single orange flowers with a hint of red providing nectar support for butterflies and other pollinators through the summer.
This First Editions® selection is perfect for small gardens or containers. It is cold hardy and deer resistant, thriving in full sun in well-drained soils. It will not tolerate standing water. Mandarin Tango® is very popular and one look will tell you why!

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in average, well-draining soil, selecting a location that receives full sun to light shade. While these shrubs are incredibly durable and heat-tolerant, they perform best and maintain the most prolific bloom production when grown in full sun. Ensure consistent water during the first season of establishment to support root development, though they become highly drought-tolerant once fully settled. Prune in late winter or early spring to remove dead wood and encourage a compact, dense habit. These shrubs can become leggy over time, so cutting them back periodically helps maintain their vigor and shape. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the root zone to conserve moisture and suppress weeds, taking care to keep the material a few inches away from the crown to prevent stem rot.
