BLUE SELECT COLORADO SPRUCE

Picea pungens 'Select Blue' is commonly referred to as the Select Blue Colorado Blue Spruce. It is a fast growing, compact, uniformly pyramidal evergreen conifer with bright blue needles. Its ornamental needles keep its color well throughout the winter and is extremely hardy, making an excellent windbreak.

The Select Blue Colorado Blue Spruce enjoys full sunlight in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It will not tolerate standing water and can be drought tolerant once established. It is tolerant of urban pollution and can thrive in city environments. It is tolerant of environmental salt as well.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with full sun to partial shade. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
