Zone: 4FIRST EDITIONS® DIAMOND ROUGE® PANICLE HYDRANGEA
Hydrangea paniculata 'Rendia' PP24667 is commonly referred to as Diamond Rouge Panicle Hydrangea. This First Editions® selection has a compact habit, sturdy stems, and abundant, long-lasting, oblong, sterile flowers that start white and progress to pink, raspberry red and fade to wine red at the end of the growing season. Blooming starts in July through fall. It flowers best in fall when night temperatures are 10 degrees cooler than day temperatures. Diamond Rouge is slighter larger than 'Strawberry Sundae® Hydrangea and colors earlier in the season. Flower color varies based on climate and soil.
Diamond Rouge Hydrangea thrives in full or part sun in rich, organic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Ideal for fresh or dried arrangements, shrub borders, cottage gardens and foundation plantings.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil in a location that receives full sun to partial shade. Water regularly until established; once mature, this variety is adaptable and reasonably drought-tolerant. Prune in late winter or early spring to shape and encourage strong new growth, as this plant flowers on "new wood." Provide structural support for larger cultivars, as their heavy flower heads may require staking if exposed to high winds or heavy rain.
