Helleborus niger 'HGC® Jacob' PP 17799 is more commonly known as HGC Jacob Christmas Rose or Snow Lenten Rose. The HGC® stands for Helleborus Gold Collection® and it is a variety of Christmas Rose that are hardy, low-maintenance Helleborus that start flowering as early as November. Some varieties even bloom in October. These plants continue to produce flowers throughout the winter season unlike the Lenten Rose which flower late winter.
HGC® Jacob Christmas Rose features large, single, pure white flowers with golden yellow stamens. The blooms turn a rose pink in cool weather and pale green in warmer temperatures. This early November bloomer flowers the first year!
HGC® Jacob Christmas Rose performs best in partial shade in organically rich, moist, well-drained soils.
