Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Confucius' is commonly referred to as Confucius Hinoki Cypress or Yellow Hinoki Cypress. It is a slow-growing, semi-dwarf, informal, upright form of Hinoki cypress that resembles the Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Nana Aurea', but faster growing with a more spreading habit. It features bright, lemon yellow scale-like foliage sprays with the interior a darker yellow and green which creates an attractive contrast.
The Confucius Hinoki Cypress thrives in full to part sun in average to moist, well-drained soils. It enjoys humid conditions.
