BLUE GRAMA GRASS
Bouteloua gracilis is commonly referred to as Blue Grama Grass. This native is one of the shortest ornamental grass which performs as a groundcover when planted close together. It produces blue-green seedheads which are suspended like tiny brushes from the tip of each stem.
Blue Grama Grass is a widespread, long-lived, warm season, perennial grass that thrives in full sun and dry conditions. It is considered the original prairie grass, accounting for most short-grass prairie of central and southern Great Plains.
