ASTILBE ARE FANAL
Grower Notes:
Astilbe x arendsii 'Fanal' is commonly referred to as Fanal Astilbe or Fanal False Spirea. It is a herbaceous, shade loving perennial that is noteworthy for its award winning vibrant dark red flower plumes that rise atop attractive glossy, dark green foliage in early summer. It is one of the earliest red Astilbe to bloom.
Fanal Astilbe is tough and pest free. It thrives in the shady spot of the garden in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It will tolerate almost everything except dry soils. It is ideal for the shade garden, woodland and shady foundation areas and along pond or stream banks.
Companion plants for Astilbe include: Rhododendron, Hosta, Ferns, Heuchera, Ligularia and Japanese and Siberian Iris.
