RED SUNSET® RED MAPLE

The Red Sunset® Red Maple is a popular, highly rated red maple with good reason! It is a fast growing, female, deciduous tree with a strong symmetrical branching habit and strong wood. Lustrous green foliage in summer changes to brilliant shades of red and orange-red in fall.

The Red Sunset® Maple adapts to a wide range of soil types, but prefers evenly moist, slightly acidic, loamy, well-drained soil. It enjoys full sun to partial shade. It will not tolerate salt. This popular shade tree is ideal in wide tree yards, streets, parking lots, gardens, and parks.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
