ERICA CARNEA MED WHITE
Grower Notes:
Erica carnea 'Mediterranean White' is commonly referred to as Mediterranean White Winter Heath. It is a winter blooming evergreen groundcover or small shrub that features pure white flowers that appear in late fall and may continue until mid spring. It is a bit taller than Erica x darleyensis and often has a fuller habit. Creamy white buds appear in late summer with flowers appearing in early fall with continuous blooms through winter.
Mediterranean White Winter Heather thrives in full sun in fertile, acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Avoid clay soils. It also prefers cooler summers and may pose a challenge in hot southern climates. It forms a dense mat and makes an excellent choice for slopes or as a groundcover.
