Picea pungens 'Fat Albert' is commonly referred to as Fat Albert Colorado Spruce. It features a dense, broad, upright pyramidal form with ascending branches and bold steel blue needles which contrasts nicely up against greener foliage.
The Fat Albert Blue Spruce is a slow grower that thrives in full to partial sun, in evenly moist, well-drained soils. It prefers cool and moist climates versus high heat and humidity. It tolerates urban pollution and can thrive in city environments. It can tolerate environmental salt as well.
