Syringa vulgaris 'Belle de Nancy' is commonly referred to as Belle de Nancy French Hybrid Lilac. It is a hardy French Hybrid variety with heart-shaped, green foliage and highly fragrant, double pink flowers that have a white center. It is a favorite cut flower. Flowers also attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators.
Belle de Nancy Lilac thrives in full sun in sandy, loamy, evenly moist, well-drained soils. When pruning, prune immediately after flowering. It is ideal as a specimen or along borders as a fragrant and colorful screen.
