GROWER NOTES:
Hamamelis x intermedia 'Arnold Promise' is commonly referred to as Arnold Promise Witch Hazel. Intermedia hybrids are a cross between Japanese Witch Hazel (H. japonica) and Chinese Witch Hazel (H. mollis). It is an upright, vase-shaped selection with a spreading habit. It features fragrant, yellow flowers and a later bloom than most other x intermedia cultivars. Flowers consist of very unique crinkled ribbon-like petals. It typically blooms in February and March on bare branches before its green leaves appear. Fall brings attractive shades of yellow and orange.
Arnold Promise Witch Hazel thrives in full sun and enjoys rich, acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils.
