It produces a dense thicket of long, slender spikes covered in rich violet-blue flowers that emerge from dark purple calyxes, creating a saturated, two-toned appearance. As one of the first meadow sages to color up in late spring, it provides a critical early nectar source for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, often blooming up to two weeks earlier than other popular varieties.
Salvia 'Blue By You' enjoys a sunny location with well-draining soil and prefers ground that doesn't remain soggy.
