What a favorite! This cultivar is much loved for its stiff, upright habit and metallic blue-gray foliage that retains its upright appearance through the growing season. It does not fall over during heavy rains! Pinkish flower panicles extend above the foliage in July which contrast well with its blue blades. By fall it takes a warm golden tone. Heavy Metal Switch Grass is perfect for naturalized prairies and meadows. Its seed heads provide winter interest.
