Helleborus Frostkiss® 'Moondance' is an elegant, highly sophisticated evergreen perennial that brings a serene and luminous glow to the late winter and early spring garden. As part of the Frostkiss® series, it completely sidesteps the down-facing habit of older Lenten Roses, proudly presenting its large, cup-shaped flowers outward on top of sturdy, upright stems. The blooms open in a clean, crisp white with prominent chartreuse-green centers and central stamens, gracefully developing soft, subtle green highlights as they age. This brilliant white-and-green display sits beautifully above thick, leathery, dark green evergreen foliage that features a striking, intricate pattern of silvery-white veins, providing remarkable texture and structure to shady garden beds all 12 months of the year.
In terms of home garden care, Frostkiss® 'Moondance' forms a beautifully tidy, uniform, and compact mound that matures to roughly 15 to 18 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide, making it an excellent choice for front-of-the-border accenting, shaded pathways, or cold-hardy early spring patio containers. The ideal spot for 'Moondance' is a location with partial shade to dappled sun with rich, organic, well-draining soil that satisfies its need for moisture without leaving its roots waterlogged. It is remarkably tough once established, showing great tolerance for varying soil profiles and excellent natural resistance to both deer and rabbits.
