Chamaecyparis pisifera filifera 'Sungold' is commonly referred to as the Sungold Thread-Leaf Falsecypress. The Sungold is a very slow-growing, compact, mounding evergreen with bright yellow emerging foliage that fades to lime green in summer. It may only reach 3-5 feet in 10 years. The threadlike leaves do not burn in the sun and adds nice texture and color to a conifer garden.
The Sungold Falsecypress enjoys full to partial sun in moist, rich, well-drained soils. It is ideal as an accent, screen, rock or container plantings.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Provide partial shade, especially during the first growing season. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth.
