Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Crippsii' is more commonly called Golden Hinoki Cypress. It is a dwarf evergreen shrub with a broad conical habit. It has spreading branches and pendant sprays of bright, golden yellow foliage. Foliage will mature to yellow on the interior with some yellow on the green tips, giving off a two-toned effect.
Golden Hinoki Cypress is a slow to moderate grower and can be used as a specimen or bonsai. It thrives in full sun to partial shade in acidic, loamy, evenly moist, well-drained soil.
