Azalea Kurume Tradition is commonly referred to as Tradition Azalea. It is a semi-evergreen hybrid shrub with a compact growth habit. It features masses of bright, clear-pink flowers in early spring that are 1.5 inch wide. Dark green evergreen foliage round out this beautiful shrub.
Tradition Azalea is one of the hardiest semi-dwarf evergreen Azaleas and thrives in part shade in rich, acidic, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal as a low hedge, or in mass plantings. It will thrive on the shady side of building or home or along woodland margins.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in acidic (pH 4.5-6.0), well-draining soil rich in organic matter. If the soil is heavy clay, incorporate peat moss or aged pine bark. Plant shallow - the top of the root ball should sit 1 to 2 inches above the surrounding soil level; never bury the crown Keep soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Apply 2 to 3 inches of pine needles or bark, keeping it away from the main stem. Always ensure deep watering in late autumn before the first hard freeze to prevent winter desiccation.
