WHIRLWIND JAPANESE WINDFLOWER
Anemone x hybrida 'Whirlwind' is commonly referred to as Whirlwind Anemone or Whirlwind Windflower. It is a herbaceous perennial with pure white, semi-double flowers with a gold center. This vigorous variety blooms from late summer through fall and can even withstand a light frost. Flowers attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Foliage is dark green with a mounding habit, making it a terrific groundcover that spreads through rhizomes to form large colonies over time.
Whirlwind Anemone is deer and rabbit resistant and thrives in full to partial sun in rich, fertile, humusy, evenly moist, well-drained soils. They are perfect for borders, cottage and woodland gardens. A great naturalizer!
