PERENNIAL GERANIUMS

Cranesbill are hardy, carefree sun lovers that are perfect for front-of-the-border edging or a middle-of-the-bed filler. Newer varieties have much longer bloom times than older varieties. Watch for this garden favorite to start blooming early and keep it up 'til frost! Here's our time-tested favorites:



Geranium Azure Rush PP22684
Geranium 'Azure Rush'

Any Availability:

A hybrid of the award winning 'Rozanne', with large, lavender-purple blooms from early summer until frost. Grows 18-24" tall with a sprawling habit. - Zone 5

Geranium Biokovo
Geranium 'Biokovo'

Any Availability:

This low grower forms a carpet of fragrant, glossy green foliage. Dainty white flowers with pink stamens appear in late spring and bloom occasionally throughout the summer. Grows 10-12" tall. - Zone 3

Geranium Dark Reiter

Any Availability:

Dark purple foliage contrasts well with the lilac-blue flowers. Blooms in early summer. Makes a clump of finely cut foliage, 8-10" tall. - Zone 4

Any Availability:

Bright, neon-pink blooms appear in early summer. Finely cut green foliage grows 8-10" tall. Has a bronze-red fall color. - Zone 5

Geranium Havana Blues™

Large, bluish-purple flowers with dark veins cover the plant starting in early summer and continuing into fall. Initially this variety sprouts greenish-yellow leaves - quite unusual for geraniums. Grows 8-10" tall with a nice spreading habit. - Zone 5

Geranium Johnson's Blue

Any Availability:

The hardiest of the blue geraniums, this variety has vivid blue flowers in eary summer. Finely cut green foliage grows 15-18" tall with a spreading habit. A haircut in mid summer will encourage fresh new foliage. - Zone 4


Geranium Karmina

Any Availability:

Geranium cantabrigiense 'Karmina' has bright, carmine-pink flowers in spring and early summer. Grows 10-12" tall. Foliage turns red and orange in autumn.

Geranium Max Frei

Any Availability:

A sanguineum type, this variety has a big show of magenta blooms that cover the plant in late spring/early summer. Occasionally reblooms in mid summer. Dark green foliage grows in a clump about 4-6" tall. Foliage turns orange and red in the fall. - Zone 4

Any Availability:

Similar to 'Max Frei', with deep magenta blooms in early summer. Grows with a rounded habit to 12-18" tall. Foliage turns brilliant red in the fall. - Zone 4
