GROWER NOTES: >
Pinus aristata is commonly referred to as the Bristlecone Pine, Rocky Mountain Bristlecone Pine or the Colorado Bristlecone Pine. It is noteworthy for being one of the oldest living species with some specimens dating back 4,000 years. It features narrow, sharp, blue-green needles with white resinous flecks. Its bark is gray-brown and fissured towards its base.
The Bristlecone Pine is native to the United Sates and appears in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and in parts of New Mexico, Arizona and California. It thrives in cooler climates in full sun and average soil conditions. Average water is needed during its growing season, but care should be given to not over-water.
