Picea orientalis 'Nigra Compacta' is commonly referred to as Nigra Compacta Oriental Spruce. This is a slowing growing, dense, pyramidal selection with shorter and darker green needles than other orientalis types. It will start more wider than tall and matures over time to 6-8 feet tall with a spread of 4-5 feet.
Nigra Compacta Oriental Spruce enjoys full to part sun in evenly moist, well, drained soils. Once established, it can become drought tolerate, however, do not allow it to dry out in its early years. Ideal for an accent or specimen planting.
