GROWER NOTES:

Azalea exbury 'Mount Saint Helens' is commonly referred to as Mount Saint Helens Girard Azalea or Mount Saint Helens Rhododendron. It is an exceptionally hardy deciduous Azalea with bright red buds in late spring to early summer that bear trumpet-shaped, multi-colored pink and orange flowers. Flowers attract birds, hummingbirds, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. It is a Girard hybrid that features attractive olive-green foliage that turns golden bronze in fall.

Mount Saint Helens Azalea thrives in full to part sun in rich, acidic, humusy, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It benefits from protection of strong winds that may damage the flowers. It is ideal for shrub borders, as a flowering hedge or foundation plantings.
