Azalea Gable 'Stewartsonian' is commonly referred to as Stewartsonian Gable. It is part of the Gable hybrid collection that was developed by the late Joseph Gable of Stewartson, Pennsylvania. It is a semi-evergreen, low-spreading Azalea with deep green foliage that matures to dark red in late fall in northern climates. Spring brings bright orange-red clusters of flowers which draws all the pollinators including birds, butterflies and hummingbirds.
Stewartsonian Gable Azalea thrives in full to partial sun in rich, acidic, humusy, evenly moist, well-drained soils. This is a slow-growing shrub that, once established, will give you 40+ years of beauty.
