Azalea x 'Girard's Pleasant' is commonly referred to as Girard's Pleasant Azalea. It is part of the Girard collection of Azaleas which have been specially bred for cold hardiness and improved performance. It is a versatile, low-growing, semi-evergreen shrub that features single white flowers against light green leaves in mid to late spring. Pollinators gravitate to this variety including butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.
Girard's Pleasant Azalea thrives in full to partial sun in rich, acidic, humusy, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is perfect for moon gardens which highlight its dreamy display of white blooms. Its ability to rebloom later in the season just adds to its attraction.
