Viburnum trilobum 'Bailey Compact' is commonly referred to as Bailey Compact American Cranberrybush. It is a compact, dense, very hardy, deciduous shrub with showy red-edged emerging foliage that transitions to green in summer and matures to a beautiful deep red in fall. Mature plants will have pretty flat-topped, white lacecap-like flowers that appear in spring followed by small, bright scarlet red fruit. Butterflies and other pollinators adore this plant, but birds do not like the fruit so the attractive berries often persist well into winter.

Bailey Compact American Cranberrybush thrives in full to partial sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It prefers plenty of moisture, but well-draining. It is ideal for a compact, accent shrub as it is deer resistant, versatile and cold hardy all the way to Zone 2!
