The Ruby Falls Redbud is noteworthy for being a compact and elegant weeping Redbud with large, heart-shaped purple foliage. Reddish-purple, pea-like flowers appear on bare stems in early spring and captivate anyone who passes by. Flowers provide nectar for bees and other pollinators and once pollinated, the legume-like seedpods are consumed by birds.
The Ruby Falls Redbud is an excellent specimen that enjoys full to part sun in rich, moist, well-drained soil. It is a moderate grower and is ideal for urban, residential and woodland garden areas.
