GROWER NOTES:

The Sweet Birch, also known as the Black Birch, Mahogany Birch, Cherry Birch or Spice Birch, is a North American large, native, pyramidal shaped, deciduous tree that is noteworthy for its smooth, dark and shiny reddish-brown bark which is similar to that seen on cherry trees. The bark develops vertical cracks revealing dark brown bark patterns as it ages to approximately 40-50 years.

Betula Lenta thrives in moist, loamy, acidic, sandy soils that are well-drained and in full to part sun. It will need room to grow. Its golden yellow fall color is at its most vibrant in full sun. Seeds are a good food source for the birds.
