A popular perennial for generations, today’s herbaceous peonies come in a wide variety of forms and colors. From singles, to doubles, and from white to hot pink and vibrant red, these new varieties will add a lot of color to the late spring landscape. Give them full sun, and well drained soil, and they will reward you with large, showy blooms every year. They are very hardy (zone 2), and are deer – resistant. Most varieties can be used as cut flowers, and many are fragrant.
